Looks like I will be picking up the Durango in a week or so. Decided to pass on the skid plates till I see it myself. Then I'll make the decision. Talked my wife into the SRT hood though. Told her she didn't wanna look like every other soccer mom out there. hehehe. Guess I'll just keep an eye on the water pump and that tail light. Hope it all turns out well.

I've thought about the SRT hood as well. That was one of my hesitations on getting the 16 vs. a 19. Is it just the hood that needs to be replaced or do you need to change the grille too?

If you don't mind me asking, about how much was it to make the change?

sorry I didn't see the update on the thread. it's direct swap. The only parts needed are the hood insulation because it's different from the stock hood, the scoop insert pieces, the hood itself and then getting it painted of course. I'm thinking it'll be around 1400 when I'm all said and done. I need to work through a few issues with the durango so I'm putting that on the back burner.

Thanks for the feedback on the hood. Hopefully no major issues on the new Durango!

yeah we have a few issues with the durango but I"m sure it's nothing major that wouldn't have happened if I didn't own it. It's just very hard for me to get someone else's problems. haha. I'm pretty anal retentive. I did opt to go for the extended warranty through mopar. There's a burning oil smell I have to sort out and a knock in the suspension. If I can't get the dealer to hear the noise I am, I 'll replace all the bushings up front and probably the front shocks. Is there a better front shock than OEM for these RT's? I know the suspension is different but I don't know how other than it being lower.

I've always liked Bilsteins. The rear shocks might be the Nivomats (ours are) and are making some clunking/rattling noises that I'm dealing with for now.

The nivomats are a unique animal as I'm sure you've seen, so can't just be replaced with a typical shock.

I know several people have used the bilsteins listed for the Grand Cherokee.
