    180 degree thermostat

Is there any advantage to running a 180 degree thermostat without a tune on a 2017 dd r/t? Thanks for the help

Rear Resonator Delete, Cold Air Intake...using factory filter box, K&N Filter, 10 inch Subs, etc.
Running down the freeway, or on long drives towing, etc. Probably. I left mine "untuned" for a day... Saw cooler temperatures running down the road quicker...since thermostat is opening sooner. I have fans tuned to turn on 20° sooner now for all settings. Cooler at idle and in traffic now.

Would it do any damage to my Dd since I have no tune yet?

Probably not... Several videos on YouTube and articles mention doing it without a tune. You just don't get full benefit except at road speed. It is one of those "at your own risk" decisions...lol.

I’ve run a 180 thermostat for 20000 miles without a tune it works well. If you sit in traffic without the ac on, it gets to 215. If your moving or the ac is on at all, it stays right at 185

Without a tune, I don’t see much benefit hp wise. Even with one without a power adder. If you live in a colder weather climate, you won’t get heat as fast. So for normal driving, not really worth it IMHO. Haven’t done it on the Durango personally because it has become the vehicle my wife has been driving the kiddos around in since her daily driver JGC was totaled. In the past, have done this mod on my GN & various Mustangs but as fas feeling any difference in a daily driver, I can’t report any FWIW.

I like driving the Durango RT, but I LOVE driving the Hellcat!

I live in Wisconsin and it gets cold here. It heats just as fast as the stock thermostat. I don’t think it adds any power but helps with the heat soak. Big difference from 215 to 220 degrees to 185.

May I ask what you are using for a tuner? Sounds right up my alley if I can adjust individual settings like that.

Diablosport i3, but my Durango is a 2011. Since 2015 the PCMs have been locked. To Tune you have to replace the factory PCM with an unlocked one. Diablosport offer them.
