SRT (6.4) Header swap on RT (5.7)

This seems to be a popular thing to do on challengers/chargers. But can't find much info about it on jeeps/durangos. Has anyone tried this? On the cars, it seems that you must swap the headers and cats, making it almost as expensive as getting kooks or something completely aftermarket. I am wondering if there is any chance that the stock cats can be modified/welded to accept the output of the 6.4 headers. This would make the whole modification much cheaper, and I would think much performance would be gained.

Thanks in advance for your thoughts!

It looks like from the person swapping a 392 into his 2012 that recent Durango SRT might just use a log type manifold just like the 5.7L does.
You need to also swap out the down pipes as the headers are in a different position if I remember...along with the pipe diameter is larger.
Most Chally/Charger owners will either swap out the cat back for the SRT exhaust, or put a reducer to join the their stock exhaust.

Early Jeep SRT's used a similar exhaust manifold to the Chally/Chargers....but it did not flow as well thus the 5hp reduction in HP over the cars.
Maybe a Durango SRT owner here can confirm the design of the exhaust manifolds being used.

I have a Corsa catback, for the record, which is 2.5" diameter. SRT is 3" diameter, correct?

I was reading about this. But can’t find any data for the Durango’s. I emailed mmx but no reply yet.

SRT (6.4) Header swap on RT (5.7)

There’s a guy over on the Dodge Durango Owners Club Facebook page who’s done the swap. He used Grand Cherokee SRT manifolds and mid pipes. Seems like there is enough pipe there to chop out and weld in a reducer.

If I have another episode of those manifold bolts breaking, I'm installing those 6.4L manifolds and downpipe.
