    Plug n play chips

When I had my 00 rt, I was told that the computer was too stupid to have that kind of chip work, but is the same for my 01 with the 4.7?

Whoever told you that was totally backwards. Your computer was too smart, in that it would recognize the chip and compensate for it. Remember, the first GM computer was based on one chip. It had the computational power to handle all of the calculations for a manned moon shot. The computers have only gotten smarter over time.
No ,a plug in chip won't work. A tuner will, as it changes the computers programing.

Thanks. Thinking back on it, you're right, he did say that.
