NEED HELP! Unknown fluid coming from muffler drainage hole

    Hello Guys,

Do any of you know what this is and what is causing it? Should I be concerned? It seems to have a small puddle of liquid every time the car is on.

    Please see attached.

    Thanks in advance!

@amelnik lol! Is it really just condensation? The discoloring made me worry and the other muffler does not have anything

Yes, just normal condensation. Color is from exhaust gases and deposits.

One of the byproducts of the cat is water vapor. This condenses in the pipes and muffler and need to drain somewhere. That is why the drain hole. Most notasble when first running a cold engine or after the rig has set ffor awhile.

There's no stupid questions, it's all part of the learning. There are however stupid answers but that's another story.

Just make sure you poke a nail through each muffler hole every year or so. My old Journey the holes would clog up with little rocks or deposits. Make sure it flows water to avoid rusting out your mufflers!
