5.2 versus 5.9? Wiring harness question

Lil Red will be getting a Heart Transplant. I'd like to put a 5.9 in instead of her current 5.2. I have been told the wiring harness isn't the same. Any Dodge Mechanics out there (Or the Fastman) who could give me some guidance?

By the way, to all the Vets out there: "Good on ya" from a retired Air Force Civil Engineering MSgt.

To those in the desert, especially those in harms way, you're true American Heroes. God Bless you all.

I'm having Fastman swap my 5.2 for a 5.9 and I he's going to use my 5.2 harness. So I guess the answer is yes? you can use it.

That's right I had forgotten our previous correspondance. Good luck with it. Perhaps we can hold a "Durango Drop In" before the weather turns. Maybe at the Brat Stop. Are you familiar with it?

We could invite some of the other Durango'ers?

Nope never heard of it(The Brat Stop) Id certainly be interested in meeting up with a few local D owners but I don't see that many around from the midwest.

I don't think the Durango cares what size of engine is in it, as the blocks and all the accessories, etc are the same regardless of whether it's a 318 or a 360. Harness should all be the same.

LOTS of people have put 408s in their Rams, Dakotas and Durangos. Same outside dimensions, just a "bit" bigger on the inside. They haven't needed anything in the ways of making it fit, or run, except maybe a flashed PCM for the 408.

My 03 already has over 50K on it, and I plan to swap in a 408 at the 150,000 mile mark or so. I figure a 500 hp naturally-aspirated Fastman 408 should fit the bill nicely!
