How to check 2009 Aspen Hybrid system

2009 Chrysler Apsen hybrid ..ran out of fuel and it never started again.
When I turn on the key ..nothing .. Green 'READY' sign about hybrid battery comes on for a second but goes away fast...
when I try to jump start hybrid battery using posts under the hood....I found message on navigator screen 'system not in use'

How do I make sure hybrid battery and hybrid system is ok?

Might be time to search for a 2009 Durango FSM? You've got a rare vehicle with very few made.

I'm assuming it should start like a normal Internal Combustion engine at first? I'm also assuming the starter isn't engaging at all? What lights are on in the Instrument cluster when you turn the key to the "Run" position? Anything?

Please check both images...one shows Hybrid system need service and navigation image shows hybrid system is off...

Does this indicate hybrid battery is dead and not usable? and that is why it does not start ?

alldatadiy.com claims to have service info for this vehicle.. not sure how complete it is, but usually when they have data for a mopar it is derived from the official Factory Service Manual..

With a code reader and that service info you might be able to get a better picture of what's up..

2004 Hemi SLT AWD Turned 100K Jan of '17. New engine September 2008 at 39K due to dropped valve.
    Curious:
If you stay on this you will get it running. As an aside, when you can post up some pics of the Aspen. We have all watched the Gen 1's rust away, and now the Gen 2's are on the same trip. I really like the look of your dash cluster!

The Aspen was a really nice rig.. we got to ride/drive the Plant Manager's Aspen at the final Newark plant tour..

If my curiosity keeps up i might pop the $20 to add this to my alldatadiy subscriptions..

Is there a standard 12 volt battery under the hood like regular Durangos? Have you measured the voltage on it? Would you be able to put a charger on it?

When this was all working before...what was the standard operating mode? Did the engine start and run the truck or was it running on battery electric power for a bit initially? Then the engine started and took over?
