Practical experience with Tire Chains? Recommendations?

I know it is a bit early to start thinking of the winter, but I like to be prepared (and I enjoy the winter).

Anyone have any practical experience using tire chains on the 2011+ Durangos with AWD? I have winter tires that I will be putting back on (and I'm getting a block heater installed next month), but I was going to possibly purchase a set for the rear wheels and keep them on me along with my winter kit for a just in case blizzard.

In my neck of the woods they have "levels" of snow emergency. Level 3 being the worst, you aren't technically allowed on the road, but if I have no other choice to be for my job (critical health care) then I want to make sure I can make it (and I know I'll have to probably unbolt part of the front bumper for clearance if it gets to be that bad).

Any knowledge on this? Thanks in advance.

They sell these things that are like heavy duty bungee strap with metal wrap around the rubber. Stay way from them.
I used to see them flying off buses all the time. If your going to drive slow stud chains themselves are best bet

Go to Amazon and put in your vehicle and then get a set that looks like actual chain links.

I didn't sign papers, but my dealership definitely said to not use chains and go with another option.

In case you all didnt see my post, here is the link. Just took my '15 SXT up to Big Bear this past weekend and used the cables one day. Worked great, no clearance issues.
