    05 fueling problems

Got the wife an 05 Limited with the 5.7. Everytime we go to put gas in it, you cant fill faster than just barely squeezing the nozzle. Any faster and it will only pump for a few seconds and shut off. Takes 20 min. at times to fill it up. I had it at the dealer for the fuel tank fill neck recall and still no change. Tech said he didnt see anything wrong when he did the work. Has anyone else had problems like this with theirs??

If you Google it, you will find many, many posts on this forum and others about refueling problems on the 05 Durangos. At one point, they were also replacing the tanks as part of the recall.
I believe there is some kind of roll over check valve in the tank that goes bad, and causes the issue. Depending on when and where the repair was done, most folks paid in the $100-$250 range with Dodge paying the rest.

If your D's VIN falls within the proper range, I would pursue tank replacement.

Thanks. Ill check into the tank replacement but I think the PO replaced the tank prior. If need be, Ill drop it when the weather gets warmer and check the roll over valve. Need to drop it anyway do to possable evap line problem, keeps setting a gas cap code.

If you are getting the P0456, it very well could be a rust damaged fuel pump housing (see my write up on this forum). Anyone who ends up removing their Gen 2 Durango fuel tank for any reason should check the condition of the fuel pump and the ring that secures it to the tank.
