How to remove rear bumper cover

Hello I have a 02 and would like to know how to and how long should it take to remove the rear bumper cover. Also where to purchase a new or aftermarket cover. I'm replacing front and rear also it's a SLT with the factory running boards that are color matched to the vehicle. What types or makes are a nice fit and would look good on the vehicle. See my avatar.

    Thanks Bill

The Bumper cover comes off quite easily in the rear. Just remove the plastic rivets in the wheel well area and underneath then I believe you have to remove the step pad to get the top loosened up.
    Sorry its been a while

There are rear covers out there, not as many as front fasias however. I like this one the best. It's reportedly a Shelby aftermarket one with a custom insert.

The aftermarket ones install over the stock rear cover.

Ahh so the same priciple as the front then. Well that'll make it a tone easier, the only issue I see here's he stated that there was damage to his D I don't know if it was front and rear or just front

    front and rear

I wish they made complete front and rear replacement covers. I don't like the idea of purchasing the factory, installing an aftermarket cover over the factory. seems a bit generic. adding unnessary parts and weight.

I do need to replace the front and rear covers only here.

Do they make any aftermarket front fenders or rear fender parts for the 1st Gen Durango?

Yes, but I don't think they're what you're looking for. The ones I have seen are for the desert pre-runner look.

It's not really adding unessary parts and weight. Is you have a stock vehicle, all you're adding are is a light weight uerthane cover. It only weighs a few pounds. Think how expensive a full weight aftermarket bumper replacement would be. Is insurance paying or you're paying? If there's no frame damage, a junkyard stock bumper shouldn't be that much.

I tagged a deer a couple years ago. The bumper was only slighly damaged but insurance wanted to replace it anyway. The bought the new bumper and I bought a Stillen cover. The body shop installed and painted as part of the repair.
