Vibration and noise when in reverse
Hi everyone, wondering if anyone could clue me in on a problem that just started today. I have a 99 5.9L 4WD that has started to make a weird noise when in reverse. It'snt a constant noise, and happens after backing up a couple feet and makes the noise for about a foot or two of movement. It makes the noise whether I'm hitting the gas or just drifting. It sounds like a kind of groaning, and during this groan, I can feel a big vibration in the steering wheel and floorboard. I can pull forward, no noise, then put it in reverse and go backwards a couple feet and it'll make the noise the next foot. It has made this noise multiple times today and has never made it before that. On a note that may be related, I just changed both my inner tie rods and a drivers side wheel assembly this past weekend and had an alignment done, along with upper ball joints about 3 weeks ago. I had driven the vehicle easily over 250 miles since the last components were changed and alignment done with multiple instances of backing up without this problem. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
