    Turn Signal Issue

For the past several months my driver's turn signals have been flashing quickly. I had this issue a couple of years ago and it turned out to be a burnt out bulb, but I don't think that's the problem this time. I tried replacing the taillight socket (swapped them from left to right taillights) and used different bulbs, but all to no avail.

    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanx, Joe

Are all the bulbs flashing? Even when the parking lights are on?

I still think one of the sockets is the problem.
I know this will sound weird, but try turning the sockets ever so slightly in the blinker assemblies. I've seen this cause your problem due to aftermarket fixtures not being made exactly right.

The contact pads where the sockets connect to the housings are really critical and have caused problems in the past. Try turning the parking lamps on and then walking completely around the D to make sure all the lamps are lit evenly. Then turn on the turn signal and do the same thing. You'll probably see a difference and that'll be the bad unit.

    Thanx for the info guys!

I put the stock taillights back on after I sold the aftermarket ones.

So, when I turned on all the lights and walked around the D, I noticed the driver's upper taillight bulb is out (as well as the bottom blinker flashing quickly when engaged.) I did play around with moving the sockets ever so slightly, but still have the same problem.

Do you think it's the taillight socket (upper or lower) that's bad and not any part of the harness attached at the bottom?

Replace the bulb first. That's easy, cheap, and bizarre things happen when half of a burnt-out filament falls into contact with the other filament in the bulb.

Yeah, I did try a few bulbs (used but working) and even moved the bulbs from one socket to the next. Guess I'll buy a new 3157 bulb and see what happens.

    I'll keep you posted.

Flex the socket to allow for better/tighter contact on the bulb that appears to be causing the issue.
