    Transfer case control module question on 01 D

    On my 01 my transfer case shift indicator lights aren't working. It's supposed to have little lights that illuminate when you turn it from 4HI to 4LOW to 2WD so I guess my 4wd isn't working as well. Does this go out pretty easy? I checked all the fuses and they were good? Could the TCCM be the culprit? Where's it located?

    I'm going to replace the CTM to see if that helps, the dealer said it controls some of the power to the TCCM so hopefully that'll solve it. I got a used one from a junkyard the dome light problem was solved but the remotes wouldn't program and the 4x4 switch still doesn't light. The old CTM and the junkyard one both had a code that their DRBII scan tool read as something on the order of "failure of the CTM" so I guess I'll have to order a new one; it runs $218 from the dealer. Get this, the part # has changed 5 times! The old part # was 56045453AF and the new part # 5114191AA retails for like $297 so they're giving we a little break on it. Does anyone know the part # for the TCCM in case I have to order one of those? They checked the transfer case module system using their scan tool and it read "no responce" so I guess I'll have to wait and see.

    Not sure if this applies to you, but I had a recall on my 01' TC Module which was either re-programmed or replaced (can't remember which) years ago.

    TCCM is somewhere near the steering column, as far as I can tell.
